Why do I always do this?

Why do I always forget to post....

I think part of it has to do with the fact that I really don't like uploading my pictures from my camera onto my computer.  It just always seems to take so long!

Also, once I get out of the habit of posting, I forget to!

Oh well- hello again!  How are you?  We are just great here in the Vestring house.

Here is what we have been up to lately.

We celebrated Mimi's birthday:

We celebrated some pretty cute moms-to-be:

Spring Break

We are at the end of our wonderful spring break week.  I'm sad to see it go.  The first 3 days of break I was sick, so I tried to get the most out of the end of the week.  I organized my pantry, closet and intended to organize our hall closet, however that has yet to happen.  Oh well,  ya can't do it all you know?  On Thursday my mom and I took a quick trip to Dallas and back to do a little shopping, and Saturday night we celebrated my fabulous grandmother's 80th birthday.

Happy Palm Sunday ya'll!  I hope it warms up a bit in the next few days.  I'm ready to spring into Spring now... please and thank you!

Birthday and House Guests

This past weekend was my birthday.  Man, I'm getting old.  I was not super excited about my birthday but was lucky that we had beautiful weather!  Having a birthday in February usually means lots of gloomy cold birthdays, but I couldn't have asked for a prettier day!  It was great.

Jeff and I went to dinner on Friday to celebrate, and then Jeff's parents came into town from Tulsa on Saturday to take us to dinner.  It was super nice of them and we had a fun time.  Then on Sunday (the day of my birthday) we went to my parent's for dinner.  We ended up celebrating the whole weekend!

Jeff's parents stayed with us Saturday night.  We also had another little house guest for a few days last week/weekend while we were puppy sitting.

This is Penny.

Isn't she a cutie?  And she's such a smart doggie too-  She even has her own blog!

She and Ruby were fast friends.

My friend Jamie took her home yesterday and Ruby has been wandering around the house looking for her ever since.

I think Ruby needs another friend all for herself don't you?!   :)

Happy Monday Peeps!  Hope you all had a good start to your week!

It's my Birthday Week!

That's right. It's my birthday week. I'm not sure how I feel about it. I felt like I was old last year when I turned 25. Now I am one year older, but don't feel a day wiser. Is that ever the case? You have a birthday and think "I definitely feel my age. I know so much more now than I did last year." ??

Last year I celebrated with my sissy in NYC. I'll miss that this year. We had fun. And I'll miss her. We've only spent one birthday apart, when we turned 24. Lets just say it didn't go too well.  I wish you could just fly here Sissy so that we could hang out!

This year for my birthday I'm hoping for this cutie girl.

Kidding, kind of....

She's from this website.  Isn't she too cute?!

I know that one probably won't happen, so I have a few other things on my list.

I seriously can't believe I'm almost 26.  I feel like that is old.  Is it?

It sure did sneak up on me...

25 was a good year.  Probably one that will go down in the books.  I got a new job, we went on a few fun vacations and saw a lot of friends walk down the aisle.

26- I'm looking forward to what you have in store for me!  It better involve a soft furry creature, but I guess I could just settle for a new vacuum instead.  :)

Birthdays

Last night we celebrated Jeff's Grandfather's 80th Birthday.  His family had a surprise birthday party for him, and while we missed the surprise part of the party (it was in Wichita, so we were a little late getting there) it was still great to see everyone.  It was easy to tell that his Grandfather was very happy and thankful to see many family and friends.

It's easy to gripe about getting older and I've even found myself thinking about my birthday in February with a little bit of dread (I'll no longer be in my "early twenties"!)  but I feel like the above quote really puts things into perspective.  Not everyone will be able to live until their 80th birthday, or even their 26th birthday, so we need to remember that each and every day we are given on this earth is truly a blessing.  Let's use them wisely!

Even Ruby made the trip to Wichita  (I think she might need a haircut, don't you?!)

*  I apologize for the bad iphone pics.  We forgot the camera...again.
